The only thing more stunning than Serena Williams’ play at Wimbledon was her appearance at the tournaments annual Champion’s Ball at the Guildhall in London. The world No. 1 was the literal belle of the ball in her floor-length, cream, jewel-encrusted dress.
Novak Djokovic had mentioned after his win on Sunday that he wanted to have a dance with Serena at the ball. Here’s hoping he got it, because that dress is built for one. (Wimbledon used to have its gentlemen’s and ladies’ winners dance for one song at the ball, but that practice was discontinued years ago.)
As of 7:30 p.m. ET, I couldn’t find any information about who made the dress, but it really doesn’t matter.
Sometimes the dress wears you. Sometimes, as with Serena on Sunday, you wear the dress.
